Child safety standards
Lazy Matchmaker is for adults only. We do not allow child sexual abuse or exploitation in any form.
Adults only
Everyone on Lazy Matchmaker must be 18 or older. We ask for a date of birth when someone joins and refuse anyone under 18, and every member agrees that they are 18 or older before the matchmaker's first question.
What is not allowed
Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) is prohibited: any content, message or photo that sexualises a minor, any child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and any attempt to contact, groom or exploit a minor, here or by moving the conversation elsewhere.
How to report
- On any introduction, choose Report and pick a reason; "under 18" is one of them. The introduction ends at once, and a person reads every report.
- Or write to hello@lazymatchmaker.com, also if you are not a member.
- If a child is in danger right now, call your local emergency number first.
What we do
- At once, on a report: the introduction ends, the two are never introduced again, and the report goes to a person. If two different members report the same person, new introductions for them pause until a person has looked.
- At once, from what a member tells the matchmaker: it is read for signs of someone under 18 or of harm to a minor. Said plainly, it puts the account on hold until a person has looked at it; otherwise it is a warning, and a second one within a month is a hold.
- After a person has looked: where child sexual abuse or exploitation is confirmed, the account is closed. It can no longer sign in, and its phone number cannot open another account. We keep what is needed as evidence, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant authorities.
- We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us, and cooperate with law enforcement.
