Delete your Lazy Matchmaker account

You can delete your account at any time, in the app or on this website. It takes a minute and needs no reason.

In the app or on the website

1. Sign in.
2. Open the page with your name (the You page), then Account.
3. Choose Delete account…, then Yes, delete it all.

It is deleted at once, and one last email confirms it.

If you can't sign in

Write to hello@lazymatchmaker.com from the email address of your account, with "Delete my account" as the subject. We delete it and write back to confirm.

What is deleted

Your account, your conversation with the matchmaker and its notes, your photos, your introductions and chats, and the emails held here.

What is kept, and for how long

• Safety reports and staff access records, without the link to your account; reports about you keep a keyed fingerprint of your phone number, never the number. They are kept while they can still protect members or answer a claim about what happened.
• For a year: a keyed fingerprint of your number with your date of birth, gender, when you were last introduced, any warnings or hold, and a record of the agreements you gave, with nothing you said. Only if your account had a confirmed phone number.
• The people you were introduced to keep a keyed fingerprint of your first name, not the name, for as long as their own accounts exist.
• Recovery copies of the database roll over within 7 days.

Only want a break?

Freeze your account instead, on the same page: no introductions arrive, nothing counts against you, and everything is kept for when you come back.
